We want to add once again a story to our blog section. Not long ago, we had the pleasure to create an oil painting from a photo of a well known American celebrity. Mr. Lacy Darryl Philips, a well known artist, who was an assistant to the choreographer Mr Michael Peters who supervised Michel Jackson`s Thriller video clip. Lacy is also a famous radio moderator. He sent us a photo of him, which shows the artist at his actual work, in the radio station of 99rock – KCLAFM – Hollywood –L.A. (www.kclafm.com). Lacy is a moderator of a Show that is called “The Underground Experience” (www.ultimateunderground.com) that presents exiting topics around art and fashion.

The first step was to review the photo. In order to receive an impressive portrait painting, we needed to edit the photo and to delete all unnecessary items. Lacy selected the option “let the artist chose” concerning his online order. Together with our portrait artist, we decided to modify the custom oil painting as follows:

No doubt that one of the most important events of 2010 was the World Cup Championship. It is the event all men in the world were waiting for, and the event that takes all the happiness away from the women. Honestly, I have to tell you that portrait-painting.com had problems with our male portrait artists, too. They all wanted to go in a paid leave so that they can watch all the football games (they said football is a kind of art, too – who can deny that Ronaldo and Messi are creating, metaphorically speaking, fabulous oil portrait paintings during every football game). And as they are art people, they were called colleagues by our oil portrait artists. The final solution of this art-football-oil portrait painting problem was found by one of our best portrait artists, who decided to turn Shakira`s photo into a oil painting. Shakira was the singer chosen to sing the anthem of World Cup 2010. Her song “Waka Waka” immediately became an absolute Number 1 hit. This celebrity portrait painting became a big event in our offices and a reason for jealousy between our portrait artists because of who came up first with the idea to make it. Our portrait artist chose one of the most famous photos of Shakira and turned it into a brilliant celebrity oil portrait painting.
